Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed human babies, although sometimes it doesn’t feel so natural. As a Lactation Consultant, I can tell you that there are so many ways to improve the breastfeeding experience. I come armed with all sorts of tricks and tips, not only for breastfeeding, but for deciphering newborn behavior, as well. Sometimes it is as simple as a slight tweak in positioning. Other times it takes a bit more intervention and perseverance. Either way, I am committed to doing whatever I can to help support you through any breastfeeding challenges you may be experiencing. This is a very special time for your family, and I would be honored to support you.
Addressing such breastfeeding challenges as:
- Sore Nipples
- Latching/Positioning
- Engorgement
- Low Milk Supply/Over Supply
- Slow Weight Gain
- Flange Fittings
- Plugged Ducts/Mastitis
- Breastfeeding Multiples
- Pumping/Return to Work
- Re-Lactation
Infant Bodywork
As an Infant Body Worker, I will do my best to help your baby feel more comfortable in their body. Some of the methods I use are Infant Cranial Sacral Therapy, Infant Massage, Rhythmic Movements, Reflex Assessment and TummyTime!™ Method. These modalities have been amazingly helpful for many babies.
Signs your baby may benefit from bodywork:
- Feeding Challenges
- Body Asymmetry or Misshapen Head
- Excessive Fussiness
- Difficulty Sleeping
- Gas/Discomfort after feedings
- Dislikes Tummy Time
- Side Preference
- Irregular Stooling Pattern
Testimonials
"Tracey is amazing. I worked with her about two years ago when my son was born (I know, I'm a little behind the ball!) She is easy to get along with and very professional. She was super accessible (both in terms of home visits and over email), gave practical advice, and was honestly a lifeline when I was deep in it trying to get my first to nurse. She also gave me advice that was super helpful but not directly related to my nursing issues, which I so appreciated as a first time parent. "
"My husband and I agree that meeting with Tracey was among the best decisions we've made for the baby. Our baby lost 13% of birth weight and along with other issues we had we were totally panicking. Tracey gave us a solid plan to get things back on track, and has helped us many times after that. All her suggestions are right on point and she genuinely cares about us. What else can you ask for?"
"I met with Tracy last week and have had pain-free successful feedings since then. I now feel confident in how to breastfeed and have a visual image of what a good latch should look like and feel like. Tracy was truly amazing! She addressed all my concerns and more, such as how to prevent a fussy baby by ensuring he is awake no more than an hour. She spent two hours with me, was thorough, patient and kind. "
"Tracey is amazing! Our breastfeeding was going well until when at about 8-9 weeks, my son started refusing the breast and only wanting to take the bottle. Tracey was very helpful in providing guidance on what to do and how to get the baby back to breastfeeding. Her advice and guidance was very helpful (as we got the baby back to breastfeeding), not only because she is really knowledgeable but also because she is very sweet and compassionate. "
"My wife and I are first-time parents and have a 4 week old newborn. I suppose like most in our situation there are plenty of ups and downs but the biggest challenge we've faced is making sure our little guy receives the nutrition he needs. Couple this challenge with everything we're doing (and maybe not doing) with the whole experience being brand new and uncharted territory and you can see how helpful it would be to have someone to turn to to help along the way. "
" Tracey knows what she's doing, and it works! My 7-day-old son, who was born with Down syndrome, had not yet latched and neither he nor I knew how to get him to start. I was also getting less milk from each pump as the days went by, not more. So I called Tracey, who was recommended by my pediatrician (PAMF). What a gift she gave us! She was able to come to my home just three hours after I first called her, and spent two hours with us. "
